Funding & Aims explained (Very important - please read!) As much as both the Fools and the Mongol Rally should be perceived in a fairly light hearted manner, there is a much more serious and noble reason behind the whole hair-brained affair. That being to raise bundles of cash for some worthy causes. The fundraising can be split into 3 distinct sections: If you feel you'd like to donate to any of the three, with any amount, we would be most gratefull. - As part of the rule of the rally, the organisers (The Adventurists), have decreed each team entering must raise a minimum of £1000 pounds for specific Mongolian charities as noted below. You can choose to donate to these via the link at the bottom of this page.
- We are also trying to raise another minimum £1000 for our own chosen charity 'The Children's University'. You can donate to this via the paypal link at the bottom of this page.
- Lastly, if you feel so inclined, you can donate to the fools themselves. The cost of the trip is no small thing in itself and every penny will help. The sum raised here will go towards the trip fundamentals i.e. petrol, taxes, insurance, visas, bribes, kit (see the kit list on 'the fools' page), ferries, food, innoculations etc etc. Again you can donate to this via the paypal link at the bottom of the page.

To provide high quality extra curricular activities to school children in Mexico who, for whatever reason, are unable to participate in after school clubs. We hope to broaden children’s horizons through a wide range of artistic, musical, sporting and academic activities. It is our desire that participation in The Children’s University will help children become constructive participants in their communities and life long learners. The Children’s University in Mexico is modeled upon, and affiliated to the Wrexham Children’s University, a partnership between the Department of Education and the North East Wales Institute for Higher Education (University of Wales). http://www.childrensuniversitymexico.net/en/ |
